Early Sound: Hearing Aid Donation Program

Objective: Provide life-changing hearing aids to children aged 2-5, helping them develop essential speech, language, and communication skills during their critical early years.

Description: The EarlySound program is dedicated to donating hearing aids to young children between the ages of 2-5, a crucial period for speech and language development. By providing early access to hearing aids, we aim to ensure that children with hearing impairments can fully engage with the world around them and begin their communication journey on the right foot.

Our team works closely with families to assess each child’s needs, fitting them with the appropriate hearing aids and offering follow-up support. This program also includes parental education, helping families understand how to best support their child’s auditory and speech development.

Impact:

  • Enable children with hearing impairments to start their speech and language development early, improving long-term communication skills.
  • Support families by providing the necessary hearing devices free of cost, reducing financial barriers to accessing care.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where children can thrive in their education and social interactions, laying the foundation for future success.

Long-term Goal: We aim to make hearing aids accessible to every child in need across Sri Lanka, especially in underserved communities. By expanding this program, we seek to close the gap in early intervention, ensuring that no child is left behind due to a lack of hearing support.
