We’re fundraising to provide 20 life-changing cochlear implants for Sri Lankan children stuck on a long public waiting list. Your support can give them the chance to speak, learn, and thrive.

🌱 The Problem
Right now in Sri Lanka, hundreds of young children are waiting—hoping—for a cochlear implant. These children are born profoundly deaf, and while they have been approved for surgery by the government, limited public funding means their procedures are delayed for years.
But time is everything.
Children need to receive a cochlear implant before the age of 5 to fully benefit from it. After this critical period, the brain’s ability to develop spoken language decreases rapidly. Without timely intervention, these children risk a lifetime of silence, limited education, and social isolation.

❤️ Our Mission
We want to step in and help where the public system is falling short.
We are raising funds to cover the full cost of cochlear implantation for 10 children, including:
- – A Cochlear Implant System for both ears
- – The surgical procedures
- – Audiological support
- – Full rehabilitation
Everything needed to make sound a real part of their world.
👂🏽 About the WISH Foundation
This project is being run by the WISH Foundation Sri Lanka, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with hearing impairments.
Founded in 2006, WISH provides free hearing tests, hearing aids, cochlear implant support, and therapies to underserved children and families across Sri Lanka. We also offer Auditory Verbal Therapy and Sensory Integration Therapy, delivered by trained professionals at our dedicated clinic.
Over the years, the WISH Foundation has helped hundreds of children born with hearing loss learn to listen, speak, and integrate into society. Now, we are focusing on those most urgently in need—children who have been approved for cochlear implants but are running out of time to receive them.

💰 Our Goal
To provide 10 children with bilateral cochlear implants at the age of 1 year.
